Aquascaping a tank is making a reef out of your live rock.lots of why and styles of reef you can make.try to think of coral placement when doing your rock work as some corals need to be high some lower but also a nice spot you can fix them so the dont fall ove if nocked or wave maker pushes them over.
i found when getting live rock try to get some big chunks and small but use the big ones as the main rock work as they are easy to place and two or more big chunks will make caves and passes just by putting them together, trying to make that sort of stuff can get very hard using little bits.Always get bits that are good foundations to have at the base of the tank b4 you put sand in as the will help hold it all in place.
This picture i found is of a big reef tank, they have gone for a really natural look with a nice pass with over hang for fish to sleep and feel safe but still easy to see.
This pic is something i may go for in my new tank a 50/50 layout with a open water zone in the mid part of the tank.
With nanos a middle rock work gives fish room to swim around the tank but also plenty of coral space.
a good site is www.nano-reef.com lots of nice nano reef tank set up to take a look at and get ideas.
One more tip in a nano tank its hart to fit wave makes without them being to powerful so to get settlement of the rocka and corals give them a fan with your hand or what i did was every two months move it all around and then do a water change as normal.
